This Easter will see the 22nd Nordic Open take place in its traditional format. The highlight of the Scandinavian backgammon circuit will be hosted right in the centre of Copenhagen at the fabulous Scandic Copenhagen hotel.
The exquisitely modern venue brings the city’s iconic attractions to your doorstep with Tivoli Gardens, the old port of Nyhavn and the Little Mermaid statue all situated within walking distance. The city itself is one of Europe’s oldest and most historical capitals and promises to be a perfect setting for some highly competitive backgammon.
As one would expect to see at the World’s largest backgammon event, many of the World’s top players will be competing to for the crown of Nordic Open Champion 2010. Claus Elken will be hoping to make it back-to-back titles after his victory over fellow Dane Tage Mellgren in last year’s final but he’ll be pushed all the way by a highly competitive field. Registration opens on Thursday ahead of a packed Easter weekend, culminating in the final and prize-giving ceremony on Easter Monday.
