About ESOB

The European Series of Backgammon is supported by a number of gaming companies from across the continent and is a non-profit making organization with the aim of promoting the game of backgammon and overseeing offline and online backgammon events.

The ESOB partners with existing promoters and tournament organisers to provide its players with a year-long schedule of competitive backgammon events. The ESOB committee is dedicated to adding to and improving its event calendar with the overall aim of attracting the world’s best players and biggest prize pots.

ESOB was set up by a group of dedicated backgammon professionals and has an advisory board comprising John Clark, Mike Main and Eric Guedj to name a few. The board has responsibility for the following tasks:

• To unify offline tournaments under a credible brand
• To promote offline events to online players through qualifiers on partner sites
• To assist event organisers to find sponsors, thus increasing prize money, entries and status
• To oversee ESOB’s Online Championship alongside the offline events
